Jordan Jenkins scored both goals as Glentoran secured a 2-0 home win over Carrick Rangers in the Premiership. The victory, secured on Saturday, marks a second consecutive win for interim manager Paddy McCourt and moves the Glens up to seventh in the table with 10 points from eight games.

Jenkins opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finishing from close range after a long throw from Ryan Cooney was headed on by Daniel Larmour. He doubled the lead in the 26th minute, capitalising on a turnover to fire a right-footed shot into the top corner past Nathan Gartside.

Referee Tony Clarke was at the centre of two penalty appeals that were waved away. The first involved a challenge by Paul Heatley on Glentoran captain Marcus Kane, while the second saw the ball strike Carrick defender Kym Nelson's arm. Clarke also booked four players over the course of the match.

McCourt made six changes to his side, with a triple substitution in the 88th minute seeing Conor Rogers-Duffy, Conor McMenamin and Ben Gallagher replace Larmour, Jayden Douglas and the two-goal hero Jenkins. The win follows last week's 2-1 victory at Cliftonville, giving the side a two-game winning run. The team's recent form shows two wins, one draw, and two losses in their last five Premiership outings.

Glentoran now prepare for a home fixture against fourth-placed Dungannon Swifts on October 3. Dungannon Swifts currently have 15 points from their eight matches played this season.
