Glentoran's match against Newry City was postponed on Friday, 21 December 2018, due to a serious traffic incident involving the match officials. The incident occurred on the Warrenpoint Road, and all four officials were travelling together in a car.

A NIFL spokesperson told Sky Sports News that two of the officials have been taken to hospital.

Glentoran released a statement, saying: "The thoughts of everyone at Glentoran are with the match officials involved in tonight's accident in Newry." They extended their best wishes and hope the officials will be fit and able to celebrate a happy Christmas at home with their families.
